Notes from our Founder & Creative Director...
Spring has arrived in our little corner of Western Australia. We're opening up the curtains and letting the sunshine and cool breeze in as soon as we step foot in the studio each morning which has been a beautiful change. We've also had an artisanal Bakery open up in our building so the smell of fresh coffee and baking bread are filling the air.
August was all about laying the ground work for the Australian Summer months ahead. Now we have (somewhat) of a plan in place it's been very cathartic to spend the days musing on how our next collection launch is going to play out.
I love working close to season. I am forever grateful for our wonderful production team who are so used to me calling them on a whim with a new design idea that I want actioned and the sample shipped that week!! Spontaneity...creativity...inspiration... execution... I feel like thats how I work best as a designer.
I've really allowed myself to spend the time to read the books that make me feel the best, listen to the podcasts that offer me the most insight and inspiration and look at all of the art and creative fashion influencers that make me feel the most inspired over the last few weeks. Some months it is difficult to give myself these moments but I'm definitely getting better at carving out the time.
We've got a huge month planned at the studio. This week, we shot our first round of fitting photos for our new collection. Some of these pieces won't be launching until next year but a few are planned to launch in our October / November collections. We've also been working on our first ever print. We have two prints in the works which have been an absolute labour of love. We've worked with a fantastic graphic designer who has been dream to create with. We're hoping to share more on this front soon... !!
We're also gearing up for our first ever Warehouse Sale. We have never hosted an event at our studio space before so we are currently in planning mode and let me tell you, you wont want to miss it.
